The Village of Caseyville is located east of St. Louis and home to an estimated 4,000 residents. Caseyville began as a sawmill town in 1845. It then became home to several coal companies and was founded in 1849 by the Illinois Coal Company. The village was named after Zadok Casey, a United States Representative and Lieutenant Governor of Illinois. The village motto of “We’re close to it all” is apropos, due to Caseyville’s proximity to St. Louis.
